Built in the 17th century by Louis XIV's military engineer, Vauban, the citadel dominates the town. Built on the site of medieval fortifications you can still see some of the feudal architecture which was incorporated into the design: the tower still remains. On your visit, admire the citadel and the famous Lion of Belfort. Enjoy a multimedia show which tells the story of the history of the town.
